"Que Bonito Baby"

This is what our neighbors say about our little turtle.  

Here he is after an evening bath.  

I think he's still not quite sure what to make of his bathtime.  As I pour the water over him, he gasps for air, and stares up at me with these same big eyes, as if to plead with me to keep him safe.  In fact, he didn't take his eyes off me for one second.  He didn't cry, but he didn't exactly smile and coo either.  It's really quite adorable, and warms my heart to know there's a little boy who looks to me for comfort and protection.

What a privilege to be his mama.
