11 Months

Bugs Baby is changing quickly!  He is moving all about the house, playing outside, eating almost as much as I do, and being much more vocal about his preferences.  He is passing from baby to toddler and instead of dwelling on the babe we leave behind, I am loving getting to know this adventurous, little boy!  

 Ha!  I discovered how to keep the sign out of his hands for more than a few seconds...

I taped it to the bear

 That fleshy blur under Winnie's right arm is my hand.  I had to quickly restore the sign to the taped bear's belly and then snap before baby boy struck again.

10 Months

He is really getting around quickly now.  He loves to explore all around the house, and loves to climb up on things, although he isn't "cruising" as they call it.  We are in no rush for him to grow up.  I am enjoying every step along the way and love this little babe more than I ever realized would be possible.  What a privilege to be his mama!  

And as for the photo shoot, we didn't get one "good" one, but it was a fun time!

9 Months

It wasn't really warm enough for him to wear a short-sleeve onesie, but he looked so cute with all his pudge, and I wanted to remember him this way.  

He's continuing to love life.  What a happy little boy we have!  He is still not officially crawling, but does a great army-drag.  And he still loves to eat.  Currently a slice of bread covered with cream cheese is probably his favorite.  And he has started to learn the letter "p", which he says with the quietest, sweetest little voice.  He definitely knows his Daddy, whom he calls "Ah-Dah", and he has finally taken to being a bit of a cuddle bug, nestling his head into my shoulder and slipping his first two fingers on his right hand into his mouth when I pick him up.  We continue to enjoy our Bugsy, and can't imagine this little house without him!

Similar to last month, this was the best we could do.

8 Months

Sadly, I completely missed the 7 month photo shoot.  I think I was too preoccupied with having the computer stolen last month to think about posting any updates.  But we're back on track this month, and Alaka'i is loving 8 months of life!  He is very social, and very talkative.  He is saying "da", "ba" and "na" pretty regularly, and I hope before long will be able to understand that Jacob is "da-da"!  He also learned how to sit-up unassisted while we were on Kauai, and has improved his "crawl" quite a bit.  He's not officially up on his knees, but he does a very efficient scoot, which works well on hardwood floors.  It's just like everyone has told us; he keeps getting more fun all the time!

6 Months!

We continue to thank God for this precious babe, and look forward to enjoying Christmastime with him, as we put up the lights and watch his little eyes stare in wonder at all the lovely decorations of the season.   Our neighbors have a pretty spectacular holiday presentation in their front yard, and if I need to calm a fussy boy in the evening, we can just go out to the driveway and peer into their twinkling wonderland.

5 Months

This post is a bit delayed, but here he is at 5 months!  He continues to be a happy little guy, and we are so grateful for his peaceful disposition!  

 We had a warm day yesterday, so we pulled out the summer stuff.  

 This is where everything ends up eventually - in his mouth.

And this is how we ended the night - some playtime with daddy.

4 Months!

Alaka'i is 4 months old today!  Just this past week, he rolled over onto his tummy for the first time.  And as you may have seen from a previous posting, he is "talking" quite a bit!  He also loves to grab things, and sucks his hands and fingers a lot.  Alaka'i continues to be such a happy guy, and we realize we have been so very blessed with such a sweet babe.

We're back to "chilly" nights, so here he is in some thermies.

3 Months

We have to give credit to Ralph, Sally and Ryan for Disney-ifying our child so early on.  They got him both the Pooh Bear, and this little striped jumper.  The embroidered name is especially adorable.  THANKS guys!  

It was difficult to get any good pictures of him today.  He has been sucking on his hands a lot lately.  I hope this has nothing to do with teething.

2 Months!

Our Silly Old Bear is 2 months old already!
He's sleeping wonderfully - last night he made it 7 hours between feedings.
He's smiling a lot, and really enjoys music, and being talked to.
He also loves the outdoors, and gardening with daddy.
What a precious little one.

We love him so much!

7 Weeks

We've had a "cold spell" the last few days, so Alaka'i has been able to wear some sleepers.  He's breaking them in before we make our trip up to Mammoth at the end of August.  Typically the nights and mornings are fairly crisp.  Isn't this the perfect outfit for sipping hot chocolate in front of the cabin fireplace?  We got this monkey suit from our friend Lauren.  So cute!
