Pergola

Since we tore down the ugly "patio" on the back of the house, and cut down the large Ash tree last fall, we have been in need of some shade.  Jacob has once again done an amazing job, this time building a pergola for us to enjoy in the back.  God has gifted Jacob with so much skill!

 He cut, sanded, stained and pre-drilled all this wood.  It was fun helping him turn each piece and load it into the garage door (to the right) so he could use the drill press.  

 Our very good friend Jon came to help Jacob put up the posts.

 After day 1

 Besides the one day Jon came to help with the posts, Jacob did all the rest by himself. 

Here is one very lovely pergola, complete for now, until his co-worker in the wardrobe department finishes sewing the awnings.  Stay tuned!
